The village of
Lake Cathie is on the NSW Mid North Coast
20km north of Laurieton and 12 kms south of Port Macquarie.
It's an excellent point from which to explore Port Macquarie,
the Camden Haven and the countryside west of the Pacific Highway. |
Keep an eye out
for our resident koalas |
 |
Lake
Cathie is a popular beach holiday destination. The
surf beach is patrolled
during
the summer holidays and the lake is a great place for safe
family swimming, boating and fishing. |
|
Boat access is from a ramp beside the bridge. Beach fishing
is also a popular leisure activity. Tennis courts are a 2
minute walk from the park and racquets are available for hire.
Extensive shore
reserves around the lake have electric BBQs, shelters, toilets,
picnic tables and play areas for children. You may spot a
passing whale from the headland.
Bushwalkers have
a choice of a number of reserves that extend inland and along
the coast. Shops include a large Woolworths supermarket and
a number of smaller shops as well as a post office and discount
petrol station. |
 |
| The
Lake
Cathie Bowling Club and the Lake Cathie Tavern welcome travellers
for dining. |
